TL;DR

Elise is an absent-minded pacifist and tends to have very bad luck. If this were a musical, she would be the character who'd sing about the power of friendship and positivity. She's an upbeat individual, although she can easily get on somebody's nerves with her constant optimism and quick rambling. Nonetheless, Elise can be a loyal companion to her friends, albeit clingy at times and eager to please to the point where she'd probably die for someone.

When she's excited or incredibly cheery, she forgets the meaning of personal space and has no qualms with suddenly hugging someone out of nowhere. When she's upset, Elise will glare and weakly hit whoever she's mad at, before starting to cry. She hates to admit it, but she knows that she can be a bit of a crybaby at times.

Elise is a character who appears to be out of place in a kill-or-be-killed setting, but in the end, it's her persistence and positivity that gets her through the day.

OH LOOK MORE IN DEPTH INFO!!

She values her friends over anything else, because they're always there for her and vice versa. Then there's the fact that she isn't very close with her real family at all, so her friends sort of replace that. She believes that no one can do anything alone. People are stronger in numbers. Being lonely is sad and no one should have to be like that. Even the most stoic characters need a quirky sidekick to cheer them on. When someone becomes friends with Elise, they'll always have someone to talk to. She will make time for anyone and do anything to help. There's no doubt that she can be a loyal companion, although she can also be very clingy. She's an eager to please sort of person. The closer someone becomes to her, the more likely she'd die for them (oh dear did i just make a reference? hehe).

Elise is a sweet girl, and a romanticist at heart. Misunderstandings are quite common with her. While she doesn't believe in judging people without getting to know them, she does end up jumping to conclusions a lot.

She does a lot of mother-henning with her friends. She's the one who keeps everyone together. Since Elise has grown to take pride in her role, she has become extremely overprotective as well. However, if her friends are in danger, she is not the sort of person to blindly attack whoever is endangering them. She'll often resort to speaking with a hostile individual, especially since her ability is more defensive than offensive.

This makes participating in Trials a tad difficult on her, as some of them involve one on one duels or group battles. She doesn't like the idea of having to severely injure her fellow classmates. When one of her own teammates gets injured, she will feel partly responsible.

Other than being forced to fight, there's really nothing else that can get her down. Her constant optimism can get on people's nerves though, but the same could be said for Elise and pessimists. Anyone who constantly moans about how horrid life is and how much their situation is hopeless really irritates Elise. It doesn't help that she can be stubborn and very persistent either. She can spend hours berating people about looking on the bright side of things.

Elise is claustrophobic, and will no doubt have a full blown panic attack if she gets stuck in a dark, enclosed space. Even though she can just go through the walls, she's scared that one day, she won't be able to. In fact, she is even more scared of being stuck in a phased state forever.

When it comes to her specialities, Elise is incredibly talented with technology and languages. She used to tinker with various gadgets, but decided to stop after several accidents where she caused them to malfunction with her ability. Give her ten minutes with some alien technology and she'll pretty much know the basic mechanics behind it. She also fluently understands four languages, and has an interest in history.

Ability-wise, there isn't much that can be improved with her powers except increasing the time she can spend in a phased state and how much more she can extend it to other people. Because of this, she tends to feel useless. Her ability is almost nothing compared to what her friends can do.

When Elise is happy, she is really happy. She will jump and hug complete strangers. There's nothing wrong with showing how happy she feels. Of course, it's not very difficult to cheer her up or make her laugh. Show her a puppy and she fawn over it to the point where you have to drag her away from it. She actually finds puns funny, and is awful at making jokes. The thing that probably makes her the happiest is when everyone else is happy. She believes that smiles and laughter are contagious, which is another reason why she tries to smile a lot.

One would think that a girl like her wouldn't last very long at the Academy with its whole "only the strong survive" vibes. She's a pacifist, absent-minded and tends to have very bad luck. It's almost fitting for her to not have an offensive ability that requires a lot of concentration. The constant reminder that anyone could die at anytime doesn't do anything to brighten up the students' moods either. In the end, it's her persistence and positivity that gets her through the day.

For someone who's faced with the danger of being sliced in half or shot, Elise still has trouble trying to cope with her fear of death. Just pretending that everything will be alright doesn't reassure her enough. She has seen students being killed in the arena since she was ten. While she knew that her time would come, she never really tried to prepare herself for it. During every Trial, Elise simply pushes the thought that she could die out of her mind and focuses on her goal. She wants to survive, so she has to try her hardest for everyone's sake. Once again, on a lighter note, Elise can be easily scared by people jumping out from nowhere and seeing a spider on the wall.

When Elise is angry, it's sort of hard to take her seriously. She's capable of making a proper angry face but she has trouble voicing her thoughts or making proper insults. When she fails to express how angry she is, she'll simply resort to pouting and hitting whoever she's angry with. She doesn't have a strong punch when she is upset though. She also has a tendency to stutter, so after she's stopped glaring at someone, she will start crying. Once she starts crying, it's hard to get her to stop. She doesn't normally cry so openly, opting to do so when no one else is around. Elise will try hard to calm herself down, but it depends on how bad the situation is.
